The Cornerstones Curriculum is a broad and balanced skills based curriculum, this thematic approach to learning is mapped to the 2014 Primary National Curriculum to ensure comprehensive coverage of national expectations.
The creative thematic units support the delivery of our whole school skills curriculum through Imaginative Learning Projects (ILPs) which provide a rich menu of exciting and motivating learning activities that provide links across all aspects of our children's learning.
We believe children learn best when they are encouraged to use their imagination and apply their learning to engaging ways. Our curriculum provides engaging learning challenges throughout the academic year that require pupils to solve problems, apply themselves innovatively and express their knowledge and understanding articulately across the curriculum.
Cornerstones also provides a rigorous essentials skills framework that outlines the end of year expectations in all subjects. These essential skills are connected to activities and are age related so that staff can track children's progress and identify their individual learning needs.
