Maths

This term we have covered a variety of topics including: Roman Numerals, rounding numbers, decimal division and … freaky fractions. The children have also worked very hard to hone their arithmetic skills ready for their journey into Year 6. Our Year 5’s can now reliably use all four operations and also do many different things with fractions including; adding, subtracting, multiplying, dividing and also finding fractions of quantities.

Our Year 5’s have also used their maths skills to create a new Roman town. They had to solve fraction questions to calculate how much money they had to spend. They also had to carefully think about the area and perimeter of their town before they placed building such as; colosseums, government buildings and monuments.
